FJMC is once again ranked first in the Rating System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria for the third consecutive year and for the tenth time since the rating began in 2012.
In the new edition of the Ministry of Education and Science's ranking system published on November 21, 2025, among the nine higher education institutions offering programs in the field of "Public Communications and Information Sciences," Sofia University once again ranks first with a total score of 58 points. UniBIT ranks second, followed by the two private universities AUB and NBU, while UNWE drops to fifth place.
Our overall rating is highest for the learning environment (63 points) and for scientific research (60 points).
We have improved our personal performance by nearly 70% across all indicators compared to 2024, including:

For the first time, the rating system also takes into account indicators of student engagement in the educational process – attendance at seminars (50.82 points at SU), attendance at lectures (42.62 points at SU), perception of the compulsory nature of seminars (67.21 points at SU) and perception of the compulsory nature of lectures (19.67 at SU, but taking into account the fact that according to internal university rules, attendance at lectures at SU is not compulsory).
It should be noted that in the current edition of the MES Ranking, the classification is based on the old programme accreditation rating for the field of "Public Communications and Information Sciences" at SU from 2019 (9.38), which was second in the country. The new rating for the current program accreditation, voted by the NAOA on July 31, 2025, is much higher (9.52) and secured our definitive first place in Bulgaria.
