In the EduRank 2026 global university rankings, announced on March 15, 2026, Sofia University ranks first in Bulgaria (out of 47), 344th in Europe (out of 2,785), and 839th in the world (out of a total of 14,131). It ranks in the top 50% across 115 research topics.
