FJMC ranks No. 1 in the Ministry of Education and Science's rankings for the eleventh time

FJMC has once again taken first place in the Bulgarian Higher Education Institution Ranking System for the fourth consecutive year and for the eleventh time since the ranking began in 2012.
In the new edition of the Ministry of Education and Science Ranking System published on October 8, 2026, among the 8 higher education institutions offering programs in the field of “Public Communications and Information Sciences”—which includes all FJMC programs— Sofia University once again took first place with a total score of 59 points. AUB ranked second with 47 points, followed by UniBIT and UNSS.
In the sixteenth consecutive edition of the Ranking System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria, featuring up-to-date information from 2026, Sofia University ranks first in 22 fields of study in which it educates students.
The ranking system compares the performance of 51 higher education institutions across 52 fields of study based on dozens of indicators measuring various aspects of the educational process, research activity, the learning environment, the social, living, and administrative services offered, the prestige and regional significance of the institutions, as well as the employment outcomes of graduates in the labor market.
Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” ranks first in 22 academic fields in which it enrolls students—“Biological Sciences,” “Biotechnology,” “Economics,” “Computer Science and Informatics,” “History and Archaeology,” “Mathematics,” “Earth Sciences,” “Public Communications and Information Sciences,” “Pedagogy,” “Pedagogy of Teaching…,” “Political Science,” “Law,” “Psychology,” “Religion and Theology,” “Social Work,” “Sociology, Anthropology, and Cultural Studies,” “Theory and Management of Education,” “Tourism,” “Physical Sciences,” “Philology,” “Philosophy,” and “Chemical Sciences,” in the latest edition of the Ranking System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria, featuring up-to-date information from 2026.
