50gThe volume "MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION. Anniversary Collection 50 Years of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication" has been published. In this edition by the University Press "St. Kliment Ohridski," the editors Prof. Veselina Valkanova and Prof. Nikolay Mihaylov have compiled in 464 pages 24 articles and studies in Bulgarian and English by lecturers and researchers from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well by foreign colleagues who have taught at the Faculty.

In his foreword, Prof. Georgi Valchev, Rector of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," emphasizes: "Over the past five decades, the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication has succeeded in achieving high quality education and preparing highly qualified specialists for the social communications system... The faculty members at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication are recognized researchers in the field of public communication and information sciences. They conduct both fundamental and applied research in the fields of journalism, media, public communication, and book publishing...

This multifaceted activity of the faculty is reflected in the diversity of scientific publications in this anniversary collection. The wide range of issues and wealth of topics included in it give an idea of the scientific research of the faculty's lecturers and their partners.

The publications are valuable both from a scientific point of view and from the point of view of civic engagement – just as through discussions, seminars, creative communication, and freedom of opinion, teachers shape young professionals and communicators who are dedicated to their profession and actively engaged with the social issues of our contemporary society."

The publication is also available in PDF format in the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) at: https://www.ceeol.com/search/book-detail?id=1370690
